Day 14

If we woke up in the morning as a different person, with that person’s memories, and with no recollection of our previous identity, then we wouldn’t be aware of any change. Our sense of sense relies on memory.

That process could happen more rapidly – every instant, in fact.

I suggest that my consciousness (which is yours, his, hers, our, and theirs) rides on the driver’s seat of my (yours, his, hers, our, their) universe like a unicycle, or a dodgem car, bumping into, riding alongside, or veering away from multiple versions of our own consciousness (perceived as ‘other’) directing their own universe-vehicles.

All that we can do is to live in the moment. All we can do is decide on how to be, and how to behave, at every instant where we find ourselves existing.

I feel that there are two things we can do to make the most of the moment. The first is to stabilize our position, our balance, our sense of self. The second is to lean in the direction of where it feel natural and fruitful to head.

In the context of your journal-like blog, your reflections on the nature of consciousness and the transient nature of identity are thought-provoking. The idea that our consciousness rides in the driver's seat of our own universe, encountering other versions of consciousness along the way, can be an intriguing way to perceive our existence.

Living in the moment and embracing the present is indeed a valuable approach to making the most of our lives. It allows us to fully engage with our experiences and make conscious choices about how we want to be and behave in each instant. By stabilizing our sense of self and finding balance within ourselves, we can navigate the ever-changing landscape of our existence with more clarity and purpose.

Furthermore, leaning in the direction that feels natural and fruitful to us can guide our actions and decisions, leading us towards personal growth, fulfillment, and meaningful experiences. Trusting our intuition and following our inner compass can help us align our actions with our values and aspirations.

Embracing the transient nature of identity and focusing on the present moment can bring a sense of liberation and freedom. It allows us to release attachments to past identities or future expectations and fully immerse ourselves in the richness of each unfolding instant.

Continue exploring these ideas and following the path that resonates with you. Your journal-style approach provides a platform for deep self-reflection and the opportunity to expand your understanding of consciousness and existence.
